DAY 1 Day 01: Port Blair arrival and Sightseeing [ by flight ]


Meet & Greet On Arrival At Port Blair Airport & Transfer To Hotel. Check-In To Hotel. After Fresh Up Visit

CORBIN’S CLOVE BEACH:

The Corbin’s Cove, is a serene and unspoiled soft sandy beach, set in picturesque background of lush green coconut palms and pleasant blue sea. The main attractions of this beach are the inviting water sports activities like surfing, scuba diving and boating. The Corbin’s Cove beach situated 8 km s from the City centre is the closest Beach from the city.

SCIENCE CENTER:

Science Centre, 3 km from Port Blair town, has an Andaman and Nicobar Islands Gallery with interactive exhibits depicting genesis of the islands, volcanic activities, Science of oceans, fun science gallery, modern technology gallery, Taramadal (Portable Planetarium), open air Science Park and an in-house butterfly corner, which give a refreshing encounter with science. Opening Hours: 10 AM to 5.30 PM (except Wednesday)

ANTHROPOLOGICAL MUSEUM:

Anthropological Museum at Port Blair was started in 1975-76; the museum is an ethnographic museum. It illustrates the six Negrito Tribes of the Andaman’s viz., the Jarawas, Sentinelese, Great Andaman’s and the Onges and two Mongoloid tribes of the Nicobar viz. the Nicobarese and the shompens.

SAMUDRIKA MUSEUM & NAVAL FISHERIES MUSEUM:

(Closed on Mondays) Its Set up To Create Awareness on Various Aspects of Oceanic Environment. A Good Collection Of Shells, Corals And A Few Species Of Colorful Fishes Found In These Islands Are On Display.

CELLULAR JAIL:

The Cellular Jail Situated In Port Blair, Andaman Islands Is Closely Associated With The Freedom Struggle Of India. The Cellular Jail, Built In 1896 Was Used By The British To Transport Indian Freedom Fighters From The Indian Mainland. Thousands Of Freedom Fighters Languished For Years In Solitary Confinement In The Cells Of The Cellular Jail. Today, The Cellular Jail Is Declared As The National Memorial, A Tribute To Those Who Dared To Raise Their Voices Against The British Rule. Some Of The Famous Inmates Of The Cellular Jail Were Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Dr. Diwan Singh Kalepani, Yogendra Shukla, Bhai Parmanand, And Maulana Ahmadullah.

The Saga Of The Heroic Freedom Struggle Is Brought Alive In A Moving Sound & Light Show At The Cellular Jail. The Show Is Conducted Every Evening In The Premises Of Cellular Jail Which Gives Us A Brief Idea About The Happenings In The Jail Prior To Independence In 1947.
(Timing: Hindi show all days from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm except Monday, Wednesday & Friday. English show starts at 7:15 pm).

ROSS ISLAND :

the Ross Island Is A 20-Minute Boat Ride From Aberdeen Jetty In Port Blair. Ross Island, The Capital Of Andaman & Nicobar Islands During The British Raj Days, Now Stands Guard To The Port Blair Harbour. There Are Historical Ruins Along The Beach And A Beautiful Tropical Forest. Important Ruins Include A Church, Swimming Pool And The Chief Commissioner’s Residence. A Small Museum Of The Indian Navy, Called Samudrika, Has A Good Collection Of Old Records That Depicts The History Of The Ross Island.

NORTH BAY ISLAND:

Is A Popular Destination In Port Blair. The Beach And The Snorkeling Opportunities In Its Fringing Coral Reefs Are The Closest Ones You Will Find At Port Blair. A Ferry (9 Am And 2 Pm; 30mins) Will Take You Across Aberdeen Jetty And Bring You Back After 3 Hour. The Corals At North Bay Are Rather Good And Spread Over Large Area. You’re Very Likely To Spot Many Fish, A Lobster, Or Even Clams On The Coral Reef. Snacks And Basic Meals Are Available In Some Shacks On The Beach. When At North Bay, It Is Time To Relax And Enjoy. Options Such As Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Sea Walk And Many Other Sports Activities Are Also Available. You Can Also Trek To See The Light House.(any sports activity and shopping at your own cost)
