>MYSORE PALACE :- the palace of mysore (also known as the amba vilas palace) is a historical palace, which is the official residence and seat of the wodeyars – the maharajas of mysore, who ruled mysore for more than 500 years, the architectural style domes of the palace is commonly described as indo-saracenic, and blends hindu, muslim, rajput, andgothic styles of architecture. It is a three-stone structure with marble domes and a 145 ft five-story tower. The palace is surrounded by a large garden.

>CHAMUNDI HILL:- one of the prime tourist attractions of mysore, and it is located at an altitude of 1065 meters above sea level, the chamundeshwari temple is located on the top of chamundi hills about 13 km from the palace city of mysore. This temple is considered as a shakti peetha and one among the 18 maha shakti peethas and it is the patron goddess of wodeyars.
The original shrine is thought to have been built in the 12th century by hoysala rulers while its tower was probably built by the vijayanagar rulers of the 17th century. In 1659,

>JAGANMOHAN PALACE:- Its construction was completed in 1861 and was initially used by the Wodeyars, kings of Mysore as their home (when the present majestic Mysore Palace (Amba Vilas Palace) was under construction after the old palace turned into ashes owing to a fire accident). It is now converted into an art gallery and a function hall. The walls of the interiors are painted with murals. These mural paintings which follow the traditional style of the Mysore school of painting depict the Dasara scene and the canvas depicting the sequence of the Jumboo Savari stretches across three walls. (Timing: 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM on all days of the week (Tickets issued up to 5 PM)
MYSORE ZOO: – is considered as one of the best zoological gardens in india as it is home to diverse species of mammals, birds and reptiles. Mysore zoo was established by maharaja chamaraja wodeyar, an architect of modern mysore, in the year 1892. Located at a distance of about 2 km from mysore palace, it is spread over approximately 250 acres.( timing: 8.30 am – 5.30 pm (tuesday holiday)

>BRINDAVAN GARDENS:-which is popularly known by the name krs. Krishnaraja sagar dam or kannambadi, which was named after krishnaraja wodeyar iv, was constructed during 1924 – 1932 by sir m. >TOY TRAIN .this train has an interesting history apart from the vintage charm. The “nilgiris toy train” connects ooty to mettupalyam at the foot of the nilgiris. The entire toy train ride will leave you delighted, thrilled and stunned at the same time. Green stretches of forests, gurgling waterfall and picturesque sights are some of the many attractions. It was declared a world heritage site by unesco during 2005.

>DODDABETTA PEAK: the highest peak in the hills of the nilgiris(2,623 metres), this place lies at the juncture of the eastern and the western ghats and definitely tops the list of ooty tourist attractions. Located at a distance of about 10 km from the main town, it offers a beautiful view of the surrounding topography. A telescope house managed by the tamil nadu tourism development corporation enables the tourists to get a better view.

>KODAIKANAL LAKE, a man-made lake, is located in the kodaikanal city it is considered as one of the most popular geographic landmarks and tourist attractions, perched at an elevation of 2,285 m above sea level, this lake is star shaped.

>PILLAR ROCKS: located at a distance of 8 km from the lake tower, is one of the famous tourist attractions. At this attraction, tourists can see three granite boulders that are standing vertically shoulder to shoulder. Measuring a height of around 400 ft from the ground, these pillars are known for offering bird’s eye view of the surrounding beautiful vistas.

>COAKER’S WALK is discovered in 1872, has been named after lt. Coaker. Located on the southern slopes of this beautiful hill station, coaker’s walk is a paradise for nature lovers situated at a distance of 1 km from the lake of kodaikanal, this place is known for its long winding paths, forests and flowers present.
