Anthropological Museum at Port Blair was started in 1975-76; the museum is an ethnographic museum. It illustrates the six Negrito Tribes of the Andaman’s viz., the Jarawas, Sentinelese, Great Andaman’s and the Onges and two Mongoloid tribes of the Nicobar viz. the Nicobarese and the shompens.

The Cellular Jail Situated In Port Blair, Andaman Islands Is Closely Associated With The Freedom Struggle Of India. The Cellular Jail, Built In 1896 Was Used By The British To Transport Indian Freedom Fighters From The Indian Mainland. Thousands Of Freedom Fighters Languished For Years In Solitary Confinement In The Cells Of The Cellular Jail. Today, The Cellular Jail Is Declared As The National Memorial, A Tribute To Those Who Dared To Raise Their Voices Against The British Rule. Some Of The Famous Inmates Of The Cellular Jail Were Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Dr. Diwan Singh Kalepani, Yogendra Shukla, Bhai Parmanand, And Maulana Ahmadullah.

After Reaching Bara tang Comes a Very Exciting Part of the Journey; the Mangrove Creek Journey by Boat Leading to the limestone Caves. The lime stone caves, full of splendid stalagmites, stalactites and pillar rocks, remain one of the favourite tourist destinations.. These ancient caves are located about 50 minutes (by sea) away from Baratang Jetty. The boat journey through the heart of dense mangrove forest is simply breathtaking. The boat ride here is a lifetime experience for some. Its something you get to see only in channels like NatGeo or Discovery otherwise.
A mud volcano is created by natural gases emitted by decaying organic matter underground. As the mud is pushed upwards by the gas, it deposits and hardens above ground. As more mud oozes out and spills over the edge it grows in size, gradually forming what you can see today – a miniature volcano with a rich, creamy mud crater at the top.At Baratang you can see Mud Volcano which is about 4 km away from the jetty. Baratang has rare view of mud volcano in India.
